What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is an alternative medicine system of herbal therapies that originated in India thousands of years ago. ‘Ayur’ means life and ´Veda´ means science. Thus, Ayurveda means the science of life.
It makes use of herbal medicines, yoga, meditation, and massages to create a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. The main goal is to promote good health and prevent disease.
What are Ayurveda Therapies?
We offer various helpful Ayurveda therapies which help to increase blood circulation, which in turn encourages quick removal of metabolic wastes, spasms, muscle tension, rheumatic and arthritic problems, and backaches. These Ayurveda therapies relieve joints and muscles from stiffness and make all body movements free.
ABHYANGA
Abhyanga is a gentle full body massage and one of the most rejuvenating therapies of Ayurveda. It involves massaging the entire body with warm herb-infused oil from head to toe. For certain illnesses, the oil is frequently pre-mixed with herbs. The rhythmic motion of this massage helps to relieve joints and muscles from stiffness and increases body mobility and flexibility. Abhyanga is recommended for stress relief, pain relief, nerve stimulation, toning up of muscles, rejuvenation, and immunization and is also ideal for post-delivery/natal care.
PODIKIZHI
Podikizhi is a soothing Ayurvedic treatment that treats arthritis, spondylosis, muscular pains, back pain, sports injuries etc. The massage involves the application of a herbal powder containing various revitalising herbs. This medicated powder of herbs, wrapped in a cloth, is applied with warm medicated oils and affected regions of the body or the whole body is massaged.
KATI VASTI
Kati vasti is a sort of lumbar treatment that focuses on the lower back and is given to patients with lower back pain. Warm herbal oil is poured over the lower back into a well-shaped container made of black gram dough, and placed on the lower back for an extended period of time. Effective for Chronic Back pain, Intervertebral disc prolapse and Lumber Spondylitis.
SIRODHARA
An ayurvedic procedure of slowly & steadily dripping lukewarm medicated oil on the forehead in a continuous stream from a certain height, for a specific time and is allowed to run through the scalp and hair. It stimulates the ‘Ajna Marma’ or ‘Maha-Marma,’ a crucial place on the forehead that offers mental stability and steadiness. The Ajna Marma is the primary point through which vital life power or ‘Prana’ circulates, according to Ayurveda. Sirodhara reduces anxiety, insomnia, hypertension, mental stress, loss of memory, and headache, and improves memory & mental capabilities.
Shirodhara Treatment Availability: Please note that we don’t offer Shirodhara during colder months (November – April) to avoid worsening conditions such as migraines, headaches and depression. Your well-being is our priority.
NASYAM
Nasyam is an ayurvedic therapy that involves administering medicated herbal oils through the nose. It purifies the brain and nasal passages, consequently alleviating headaches, migraines, and sinus problems, and induces sound sleep.
